Güímar is set to increase its social housing units to over 80 by the end of this term, provided the local government successfully executes the ongoing projects. The most recent constructions of this kind are over 35 years old. In this regard, the City Council has allocated land to the Canary Islands Housing Institute (Icavi) and will utilise the proceeds from tenders for acquiring unfinished properties and plots.
